Congressmen Marion Berry, Mike Ross and John Boozman told a community pharmacy group Wednesday they will continue efforts to change federal regulations that they said delay payments and shortchange pharmacists.

 

Secretary of State Charlie Daniels says Tuesday‘s primary election set a record for the lowest primary turnout, 19% of registered voters went to the polls.

 

Attorney General Dustin McDaniel rejected a proposed ballot initiative that would increase the state severance tax on natural gas and specify how proceeds from the tax would be allocate. He cited several ambiguities, including how it would relate with the Legislature’s recent increase of the severance tax.

 

Central Arkansas Transit will use that $2 million federal earmark to buy eight new buses.

 

We learn that a North Little Rock blogster has FOI’ed the travel records of Mayor Pat Hays.

 

Jacksonport State Park has recovered from record flooding this year in Arkansas and will reopen Friday.

 

Apparently Dollarway’s strategy worked. Voters rolled back the property tax and there will be a mew middle school.  The tax cut effectively ends a lawsuit which had tied up the district’s ability to issue bonds.

 

KAT Manufacturing, a supplier of metallic products to the aerospace industry, announced a new manufacturing facility in Paris, Arkansas. $2.4 million.  58 new jobs.

 

One employee is hurt after an explosion in a wood fiber silo at the Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. plant, in Springdale.

 

The last of three brothers accused in the December slaying of 6-year-old Kamya Weathersby surrendered to police Wednesday, and federal authorities revealed that the girl’s baby sister, mother and the mother’s boyfriend were fired at in a drive-by shooting at the mother’s North Little Rock home two weeks ago.

 

Authorities say the body found in a shallow grave is that of a Hope man missing for nearly two years Police believe the remains belong to Jon Michael Fincher who disappeared after the death of his mother, Donna Fincher. Police had issued a first-degree murder warrant for Jon Fincher, but authorities say the body found did not appear to be a suicide victim.

 

Pine Bluff reports the seventh homicide of the year.

 

Darren McFadden is a steal at $50 million, the salary he is seeking in a six-year contract, according to David White of the San Francisco Chronicle. The newspaper says McFadden wants $20 million guaranteed.
