The UCA trustees have deferred action on extending President Lu Hardin’s contract for an additional year has been deferred until September.

The UCA trustees have deferred action on extending President Lu Hardin’s contract for an additional year until September.

A legislative subcommittee reviewing school funding recommends the Legislature set aside $24 million annually over the next two fiscal years to help schools cope with high gas prices.

General aviation may be experiencing a slowdown since fuel price increases, but The Searcy Municipal Airport is experiencing the same economic lift other sectors of the local economy have seen, and an official has linked the improvement to development of the Fayetteville Shale play.

A Craighead County man surrendered to police after killing his wife. Demetricus Hampton was scheduled to appear in Craighead County Circuit Court on Friday for a previous domestic abuse charge.

A Star City woman was arrested on the edge of a cornfield on suspicion of burning down her estranged husband’s house in Yorktown.
