Trial is to start Thursday in a lawsuit by Wal-Mart in which the retailer seeks to avoid paying millions of dollars in a retirement package to former executive Tom Coughlin claiming it should not have to pay Coughlin because he embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from the company. The benefits were estimated at between $12 million and $16 million.

A report says obesity rates in Missouri and Arkansas are rising. The study by Trust for America’s Health lists Missouri as the 13th most obese state. Arkansas rose this year tying it with Oklahoma as the 8th most obese state.
