Quality theological education in central Arkansas and nationwide

We interrupt this shameless self-promotion for a message from some local folks who are actually making a difference.

My friend, Dr. Mark Quay, started the Anglican School of Ministry in Little Rock last fall and it is now entering its second year. Here is the link:
http://www.littlerocknetwork.org/school/index.html. You can reach Mark at maquay@comcast.net or (501) 801-3410.

If you, or somebody in your world, has an interest in serious theological education, let me strongly recommend the four class offerings which begin right after Labor Day. Don’t be fooled by the low cost, $150 per course. These are very high quality offerings and you don’t have to be an Anglican to attend..These classes are available for distance learners.

I especially want to draw your attention to David Sims Systematics course. He is a Little Rock guy and a world-class theologian. Here is the skinny on the fall classes:

THE 601 Systematic Theology . Dr. David Sims who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Durham, England, one of the most renowned theological schools in the world, teaches this class. Anyone who would like to enroll for this class (beyond the two already signed up) may do so without incurring the late enrollment fee provided he or she enrolls by August 27th.

THE 603 Church History 1. Dr. Mark Quay teaches this one. It deals with the everything from the Apostolic age to the Reformation.

BIB 501 Old Testament Survey. Bill Elkins has a Masters from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is an excellent instructor. This is a great course. The basic text is the new Survey from Bruce Waltke, who is one of Bill’s professional mentors.

THE 501 AMiA Doctrine. (Anglican basics, 39 Articles and such)
