Environmental regulators will allow work to resume on coal-fired power plant in southwest Arkansas while an appeal is pending on the plant’s air permit.

Another 200 Soldiers with the Arkansas Army National Guard’s 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team are in Mississippi after having served in Iraq since late March.

a countywide quarter-cent sales tax to promote economic development will go before Independence County voters Tuesday. Jefferson County puts a half-cent for economic development on the ballot tomorrow.

Henderson State football player Louis West is out of the hospital after being treated for a gunshot wound to the neck during a scuffle at the Arkadelphia Country Club. A press conference later today will announce a couple of arrests.

An attorney for former Jefferson County judge Jack Jones, who was charged with nine felony counts in February after a more than two year investigation by the Arkansas State Police, wants a special judge to order the two investigators to submit to interviews.
