On August 26, 2009, Detectives made contact with medical personnel at Arkansas Children’s Hospital regarding a patient.  They advised that Dakota Robinson was being treated in their facility for a failure to thrive situation; Dakota was approximately 20 months old and weighed only 18 pounds.  Medical personnel stated they had become suspicious of the mother, Tonya Robinson, when Dakota had originally began to gain weight once on a feeding tube and subsequently then began to loose weight.  The staff began monitoring Robinson’s activity and on August 25, 2009 at approximately 1600 hours they observed Robinson cover Dakota with a blanket and then disconnecting the feeding tube from the port in Dakota’s abdomen.  Robinson was placing the formula into Dakota’s diaper and not in the feeding tube.  The nurses took the soiled diapers and obtained the fluid content and visually compared it to the formula and there was no apparent difference.  Tests on the fluid revealed it was formula provided to Dakota.

Robinson was placed into custody and transported to the Northwest Detective Division where she was charged with one count Endangering the Welfare of a Minor 1st and transported to Northside.  Robinson was held with no bond per Judge Lightle.
