Drew Pritt blasts “compromise” on health reform legislation

The unswerving intellectual honesty of the Lynch at Large worldwide information services will not allow us to overlook this opinion on the Senate secret deal that effectively kills the public option.

Drew Pritt, Democrat running for U.S. Senate in Arkansas, says the U.S. Senate “compromise” on health care reform is more of a “sell-out”, constructed by his primary opponent, Senator Blanche Lincoln, and others rather than a “buy-in” for 30,000,000 Americans without health care coverage.
“Extending Medicare to those 55 yrs. or older, still does not cover those of us younger than 55 yrs,” said Pritt. “That includes people like me with a pre-existing condition. It also benefits the wealthy and fattens the pockets of the lobbyists while a mirage is shown to so many in the desert of despair over health care, saying they can buy-in to an existing option. The main problem is most Americans without health care coverage cannot afford to buy in.”
Pritt says Senator Lincoln’s position on health care reform is not in line with a true Democrat, nor an average Arkansan.
“The Blanche Lambert (Lincoln) who Arkansans elected in 1992 because she said she could at least balance her checkbook has lost her way. She has now become Blanche Lincoln, consumate D.C. insider whose votes benefit the very wealthy, not the endangered many, that include 683,000+ Arkansans without health care coverage,” said Pritt.
Pritt is calling on Senator Lincoln to remember her Democratic Party values and fight for the less fortunate.
“We are Democrats for a reason. The hardworking men and women, the farmers, the small business owners, the people who pull the load and pay the taxes in this country have been getting hit below the belt by the insider politics by Beltway Insiders like Blanche Lincoln and other Democrats who talk Democrat in their state and vote Republican in D.C. when it matters,” said Pritt. “Its time we as Democrats fight for them, again.”
