...A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR A LARGE AREA OF
ARKANSAS THROUGH MIDNIGHT...

.AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM CONTINUES TO ADVANCE TOWARD ARKANSAS
FROM THE TEXAS PANHANDLE. IT IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS TEXAS
TODAY BEFORE LIFTING INTO THE CENTRAL PLAINS BY SATURDAY MORNING.
MEANWHILE...A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL ALSO MOVE THROUGH TEXAS
AND PASS TO THE SOUTH OF THE STATE AS COLDER AIR FILTERS INTO THE
AREA. THESE WEATHER FEATURES WILL WORK TOGETHER TO BRING WINTER
WEATHER TO A LARGE PART OF THE STATE. SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF
SNOW AND ICE WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT.

THE WINTER STORM WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CST
TONIGHT.

* TIMING...A MIX OF RAIN...FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL CONTINUE
  THIS MORNING...GRADUALLY TRANSITIONING TO A FREEZING RAIN AND
  SLEET MIXTURE THROUGH THE DAY...AND CHANGE OVER TO ALL SNOW IN
  THE AFTERNOON TO EVENING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...FREEZING RAIN ACCUMULATIONS OF ONE TENTH TO ONE
  QUARTER OF AN INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA.
  HOWEVER...AN AREA OF LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF HALF OF
  AN INCH IS EXPECTED...CENTERED ROUGHLY ALONG A WALDRON TO
  AUGUSTA LINE. ACCUMULATIONS OF ONE TO TWO INCHES OF SNOW AND
  SLEET WILL BE POSSIBLE IN ADDITION TO THE FREEZING RAIN. THE
  HEAVIEST AMOUNTS OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION WILL LIKELY OCCUR
  NORTHWEST OF A LINE FROM RUSSELLVILLE TO SEARCY TO NEWPORT...
  WHERE TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF OVER FOUR INCHES WILL BE
  POSSIBLE... ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN. IN THE LITTLE
  ROCK AREA...AROUND A QUARTER TO HALF AN INCH OF FREEZING RAIN
  WILL BE POSSIBLE...WHILE 1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW.

* MAIN IMPACT...AREA ROADS...BRIDGES...AND OVERPASSES WILL
  LIKELY BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS...
   ESPECIALLY AFTER MIDNIGHT...MAKING TRAVEL TREACHEROUS. POWER
  OUTAGES WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE WHERE THE HIGHEST ACCUMULATIONS
  OF FREEZING RAIN OCCUR.

* OTHER IMPACTS...BREEZY NORTH WINDS WILL ALSO CAUSE BLOWING
  SNOW...AS WELL AS INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR POWER OUTAGES DUE
  TO ICE ON TREES AND POWER LINES.
