Arkansas AFL CIO Announces Endorsements for the May 18th Primaries

Hot Springs, AR — Members of the Arkansas AFL CIO gathered at the Clarion Hotel in Hot Springs to hold candidate interviews and vote on candidate endorsements for the 2010 mid-term elections.  Candidates Lt. Governor Bill Halter running for the Democratic nomination for United States Senate, State Senator Joyce Elliot running for the Democratic nomination in the 2nd Congressional District, and Chad Causey running for the Democratic nomination in the 1st Congressional District received the endorsements of the Arkansas AFL CIO.  The candidates spoke to Arkansas members of the AFL CIO in the Lakeview Ballroom of the Clarion Hotel in Hot Springs.

Members of the Arkansas AFL CIO interviewed the candidates running for statewide or federal office in the May 18th primary to clarify their positions on the issues important to working families.  “This is the time that our elected officials need to be listening to working families in Arkansas, not the special interest groups and big corporations.  Lt Gov. Bill Halter, State Senator Joyce Elliot, and the other candidates we have endorsed stand with working families in Arkansas and we stand with them,” said AFL CIO President Alan Hughes.

A full list of endorsements will be available at the end of the day.
